Dear Divine Beings!

Some times I felt to sit with me and reflect back on how life should go back. After working for 15 years in the development sector, realized that though I came to this sector to serve others, because that make me happy, like my Mom use to feel happy after serving me a chapati,but some how we are lost with other trivial issues of ego,competition,politics,rat-race to earn more and collect materialistic things in life.

It is here that I took the shelter of Meditation to distress my life. Gradually Meditation has served me in a such a way that I became a strong lover of this process. A day came when I realized that it is not worthwhile to be in a posh job and compromise on your soul front. This motivated me to leave my posh job and start a small yet very significant initiative in the form of SOHAM (Social Orientation to Human Aspirations through Meditation) http://soham2.freewebpages.org.

Helping your self to help others. Unless you know the skill of helping your own self you cannot help others. This is where you need to know your own self and then must also know to empower yourself. Untill you empower yourself you cannot empower others. Meditation is the art of helping our own self. This is where we conceived SOHAM: the development process which starts from self.

Social Orientation to Human Aspirations through Meditation (SOHAM) is an Not for Profit Organisation aims to build India rather World in this perspective. SOHAM believes That Meditation is the basic tool for realizing the immense treasure of love, creativity, compassion and energy with in oneself. As Swami Vivekanand puts it “Vayakti Ayakat Braham Haiâ” (“A man is a unrealized GOD”). The art of loving your ownself which comprehends the whole Universe is called Meditation. Therefore all development activities of SOHAM starts with Meditation and never ends, it is an unending process of Human Evolution.

It is not only the materialistic development, physical development but the core development of an individual, holistic development, the comprehensive development of all. As our scriptures say if you are not careful to the development of your neighbored it is not the complete development of even your own self. Love is the basis of any development and if it is not there then it is something else. From where does this love will come from? One can not buy it as a medicine from market. One has to sit with himself to explore it from with in. Here comes the role of Meditation. Balancing one self. The key to every social problem rather a developed world lies with Self Management.
